The Management Team

Susan Rice, CEO

Susan Rice, founder of BDFT, acquired the orchard property in 2001. She has become known around the world for her progressive approach to managing her North American truffle orchard. She has received awards for her work and has been granted membership to numerous agricultural associations throughout America. Ms Rice has held leadership positions in several industries including medicine, investment, real estate and land development. She now serves as the Chief Executive Officer of BDFT.

Charles Warren, Executive Vice President and Marketing Director

Charles Warren is a professional investment analyst with a keen understanding of Perigord black truffles. Born in England, he studied Advanced Economic Analysis and Economic Policy at the London School of Economics. He was a he was trader in the financial markets where he managed large speculative fund accounts. He has served in senior management positions in sales and public relations. With over 18 years of experience servicing investor clients, he has earned numerous awards and recognition for his work. He is a member of NATGA and is involved in fundraising for the Save Darfur Coalition.

Corey Rice, Vice President and Director of Farm Management

A graduate of Princeton University with degrees in ecology and biology, Mr Rice is responsible for farm management at BDFT. With his scientific background and his expertise in natural resource management, Mr Rice is utilizing innovative techniques for maintaining a healthy orchard and mitigating threats to truffle production. Mr Rice has integrated soil sampling, GPS-guided broadcasters, DNA testing and advanced irrigation systems into the daily farming routines. He now serves as the Director of Farm Management at BDFT.
